James P. Bernard, a chemist by education at 22 became an owner in a Color manufacturing business in his hometown of Poughkeepsie, NY. The world of color presented new challenges every day and the creative problem solving opportunities that afforded him caused his love for the business and appreciation of color to blossom.
Along the way he was blessed with three healthy children (two boys and a girl). As they grew, he loved reading them bedtime stories each night as they fell asleep. He found that the stories he made up about the adventures of “Frank” were the ones that were requested the most. His children loved them, and he kept creating new stories and new characters.
“Frank” stories continued to be requested when James became a grandfather and legend of “Frank” was successfully passed on from one generation to another.
While still working in the wonderful world of color nearly 60 years later, James' love for telling “Frank” stories continued to grow - as did his desire to share them with bigger audience. This began his quest to publish "Frank", and he hasn't put the pen down since.
